Big Chef is one of Microgaming’s most recent releases and while you wouldn’t know it from the relatively simple visuals and use of fifteen win lines, there is still plenty to look forward to. It’s one of the cartoonish games with a focus on fun that are typical of the developer and while we can’t see this game achieving the legendary status of the likes of Avalon and Thunderstruck 2, it is certainly a welcome addition to the existing Microgaming slots range.

This slot is particularly entertaining in its own right but we think you’ll agree that you can’t beat a little cash incentive to make any slots playing session all the more enjoyable. The various features on the game can be highly rewarding so playing with real money is certainly worthwhile. Throw in the fact that the casinos that we recommend here on the site offer their own additional rewards and you’ll definitely have value on your side when you check them out!
How to Play
While fifteen win lines may be somewhat limited by current standards, it certainly makes Big Chef accessible simply through how cheap it can be to play. The lines are fixed, but a minimum bet of $0.15 per spin isn’t going to scare off even the most casual players, although the very highest rollers may well need to look elsewhere as the maximum bet is a relatively low $7.50.
The game is of course based on food, with the action taking place in a relatively high-end French restaurant. Staff and foodstuffs make up the symbols on the game, although the game logo is one of the most important as it acts as a wild card. There are also two scatters to look out for in the form of the menu and the cloche.
Three or more menus in view at once will award players ten free spins with a two times multiplier. Of particular note in this round is the introduction of rising wilds. When a wild card lands, it will move up the relevant reel on the next spin, leaving the previous one behind for that spin, making fully wild reels a likelihood and you don’t often get that on games that already have a multiplier thrown in.
The cloche scatter appears only on the fifth reels and you just need one in order to trigger the relevant feature. You’ll receive one free spin and if you manage to land a wild card on the board, rising wilds come into play once again. You’ll continue to receive free spins for as long as a wild is displayed on the board.
Big Chef is actually surprisingly unique and innovative given the first impressions from the graphics and number of win lines. Great prizes can build up quickly while playing this game and that is reason alone, as far as we’re concerned, to give it a go! The real money version is live now at each of the great casinos featured in the sidebar.
